Turning it up a notch

Posted on: December 22nd, 2009

Taking some time to finally update the blog. December’s been a really busy month, but everything has been extremely productive. Our new project should be launching very very soon. The major change this month was to move our office to a more productive environment. I foresee that our work habit and productivity level will be optimal at the new spot. Why? Less distractions. I love my boys but it’s hard to work with friends, especially when other friends stop by and say what’s up.

It’s no secret that 2009 was a very fun year. Too fun. Now we’re making up for lost time by working about 14 hours a day. It starts taking a toll on you mentally and physically a bit but I like what I do so it’s not that bad. If I hated my job, well, I wouldn’t be doing it. Life’s short so you gotta do what makes you happy.

Basketball season is coming up and that’s always fun. I love basketball. I love being on the court, completely focused on the game, and taking my mind off other things. It’s a great way to let off steam and get your mind right. Honestly, there’s nothing like the feeling of hitting a nice 3 pointer. Doesn’t matter how many times I do it – it feels great every time. Last year I had a great game where I made 4 3 pointers and they gave me player of the week. That was the shit! I was on fire that day….felt great. This season I look forward to working on my ball handling skills and helping my team get to the playoffs. I know we can do it, but we have to practice. With everyone being so busy, it will be interesting to see how our bodies respond to limited practice time. I hope we can make the mental adjustments to make up for it.

This time is pretty much my favorite time of the year. College football bowl games. NFL wraps up with the Super Tazon, as they say on the mexican channels, just around the corner. Best of all: NBA basketball! This year my Lakers are playing great, but we have had a favorable home schedule. It will be interesting to see how they do on the road. So far they’ve held up but we did lose to Utah. Go lakers….

I hope next year I can have more free time to do new things. I want to learn to play an instrument. I want to travel more. I’d also like to do more activities that connect me with nature, such as camping. I’d like to follow all my passions, even the ones that are not too popular. I’ve been following the Zeitgeist Movement for a few months now and would like to see if I could contribute to it in any way.

Time to get back to work. Make it a great day friends. Remember to follow your passions, no matter what they are. Passion is fuel to the fire of success. Money will follow. Money’s not all that important anyway. Don’t get me wrong, we all need it to live, but money doesn’t give you happiness. So find that happiness and don’t let it get away.

Here’s to life, love, and all the wonderful things this world has to offer.

Haven’t had much time to write because I’ve been super busy lately and doing a horrible job of updating this blog. Hopefully my next post will be sooner rather than later.

Peace and love,

Vegas Day 1

Posted on: August 7th, 2009

It’s 1:26pm and I just woke up after a night of good and bad decision making in Vegas. Good because I hit 2 four-of-a-kind’s last night and I got hot at craps and came up 200 more. But I lost like 1000 in blackjack unfortunately.

Here’s a review of the night…

Mirage video poker
Shots at IP (Angelo hooking that shit up)
Diablo’s at Monte Carlo
Good run at the craps table at the Mirage
Getting ass raped in BJ at mirage.
Sleep.

Now it’s day 2. Time to have some fun.

Late night thoughts

Posted on: August 5th, 2009

It’s probably a good thing that I re-installed the Wordpress app on my phone so I can actually attempt to do something useful late at night.

So I’m laying in bed right now listening to deadmau5’s “faxing Berlin” feeling all sorts of emotions: excited, intrigued, a bit fatigue but overall I feel great.

Today I was able to experience something new and it blew my mind. There’s so much in the world that I have yet to experience. I welcome the future with open arms and mind.

So I’ll be heading out to Vegas on Thursday for Laura’s bday although I don’t really much of an excuse to go to Vegas. I’ll be returning to LA on Sunday but only for a few hours. We (Alex, Mikie, and I) are taking a late night flight to NY for affiliate summit east.

If you don’t know what ASE is, it’s a conference where people in my industry (internet marketing) meet up to talk about issues that relate to our business. It’s also a great opportunity to meet new companies and people that can help you grow your business.

What I love about ASE is that you get to hang out with your affiliate managers, network, and have a great time. After all, what’s an affiliate convention without booze and hot chicks. I look forward to seeing all the AM’s although I do have to give a shout out to my boy Brian from affiliate.com. Can’t forget about Jim Banks from GlobalMedia and Matt who was formerly with Rocketprofit but now is doing his own thing.

Well, since it’s 4 am I’m gonna try to knock out now. This time in 48 hours I’ll be drunk in Vegas somewhere…can’t wait.

Peace and love to all,

Dre

Looks like Ron Artest (aka Steve G.) is going to be come a los angeles laker! Big news….I think this is fabulous for the lakers. They did good not to overpay Ariza. Ariza looks like is gonna go the rockets for the same MLE he could have gotten with the lakers! What a fuck up! He should fire his agent. Hope TA learned his lesson…

Anyhow, I welcome Ron to the lakers. I believe he’ll bring toughness and the same defensive pressure Ariza provided the lakers this year. Ron can hit the three also. The only question is the chemistry and  if Ron can accept whatever his role is going to be.

Let’s go Lakers! Repeat baby!
