More basketball, bowling, and birthdays

Posted on: March 21st, 2009

All right. Guilty. Yes, I know I’ve been saying I’d start writing more and here I am 2 months later!! Hey, at least I’m back though right?

So team “The Office” (our basketball team) is officially 2-4. We lost our first game against the now first place team “PT”. We play them again in three weeks I believe. We lost our second game against team “Superman.” They, much like team PT, took advantage of our lack of rotation on defense. A couple guys from each team have managed to take over and we have not been able to get good help defense. After going 0-2, we played team “Token White”, whom we destroyed by almost 30 points. Unfortunately for Token White, they are now 0-6 and they don’t look like they’re going to win a game this season unless they get ringers.

The Office in-action shot

After going 1-2, we managed to lose again but we swiftly followed that up by winning our second game against one of the better teams. The week afterwards, though, we stank it up against “the Blazers” who, once again, had a couple guys that just killed us.

The last game we played was my best game, where I went 2-4 from the 3-pt field. I had 6 points this game. Unfortunately, we did not have a good group effort and it led to our 4th loss. We’re pretty much out of any chances of gettng to the playoffs. We basically need to win out in order to make it. It doesn’t look likely but I’m staying optimistic. Actually, I’m going to guarantee that we win tomorrow if we’re not all hungover from partying tonight. Tonight is Nitza’s birthday and we’re all heading to a club. I’m kind of pissed cause I got a pretty bad pimple that doesn’t seem to go away. Oh well, it happens!

Onto…bowling…

bowling

Yes, that’s right. 235. Not bad right? So we’re all playing pretty decent right now getting anywhere from 140-230. We’re supposed to play Danny and his crew of “pretty good bowlers” for pitchers of beers but last week they ranked it on us. We’ll see if they have the courage to show face this week…watch us lose…lol.

So the big 2-5 was last friday. I celebrated with my sisters, cousins, and friends at a local nightclub. Here are some pics from that fun night…

Was tons of fun as you can see.

Off to do some productive things now…bbl!

Bad Beats, Basketball, and Beer

Posted on: January 30th, 2009

Yooooooooo.

All right so I’m a little pissed. I installed Pokerstars on my computer and was playing a little 3/6 poker…doing pretty good. Started with $50 and was up to $113. Well I got my ass kicked on two hands and my $50 had now turned to $33…and that doesn’t even take into the account that I was up about $60.

So I get a J8 suited. I’m in the big blind so I check. J78 flop. I raise and call as much as I could…have the guy dominated until the Q on the river gives the guy a higher two pair than my J8 because he had a JQ. Fucking bullshit. So I lost all my cash…but that’s it until tomorrow.

So a couple weeks ago we started our own basketball team. The team is comprised of Alex, Dustin, Gilby, Steve, Carlos, Ruben, David V, Robert B, and I. We played our first “game” (wasn’t really a game – just a tryout game) and we won. But we looked bad out there…disorganized, no spacing, and no plays.

However, it was damn fun! I can’t wait to play again…especially now that we’re actually practicing. Should be good…

All right so I go bowling every week at the local bowling alley. I’m a little pissed at myself though because I sucked ass so much last week that I had to buy not one, but TWO pitchers of beer. You see, loser always buys the pitcher. Usually I don’t buy but I sucked so bad….oh well. At least the beer was good.

So tomorrow we’re celebrating my sister’s bday at a nightclub in Tarzana, which is like a billion miles away from where I live. At least the music is good (spanish rock, peruvian rock, salsa, merengue, raggaeton). It’s a nice switch from the usual hip hop you hear everywhere you go.

Thought I’d write a little something since it’s been forever since my last post. Off to play some xbox and call it a night. Busy day tomorrow…

Peace and Love,

P.S. Go lakers!

Happy New Year!

Posted on: January 2nd, 2009

Happy mothafuckin new year!

Now that 2008 is officially over, we can look back at how crazy of a year it’s been. Every year is pretty much “crazy” but we can’t deny that 2008 has made its mark in history.

Let’s look back at 2008 from the eyes of yours truly:

- Formed our LLC for our Internet Marketing company
- Moved back from Arizona after about 10 months of isolation of trying to get our business going (and successfully I might add :D )
- Lakers win Western Conference. Went to Game 5 of the finals and sat pretty close for a change! About 8 rows from the floor…tickets were def. expensive but as a die-hard fan, worth it.
- Went to Denver for the first time and partied it up with CPA Empire aka Media Breakaway aka Affiliate.com
- Went to NY for Ad:tech and partied with Global Direct Media, CX Digital, Affiliate.com, and RocketProfit.com.
- Obama is elected as president.
- Economy tumbles to all time low with unemployment rate at its highest in decades.
- Best purchase of the year: Volcano Vaporizer
- I traveled to the 11th, 12th, and 13th dimension, if you know what I mean.

But the biggest event of 2008 was simply that I…..took the Red Pill. Yes, if you’ve watched the Matrix, you kind of know what I’m referring to. But if you have no idea what I’m talking about, let me elucidate: the red pill refers to the truth. The truth about the Federal Reserve, the truth about Obama, McCain, or any other republican/democrat front-runner. The truth about the United States and its imperialistic ways. The truth about our economy and how bad it really is. The truth about 9/11. The truth about how the government spends 10 billion per month (or is per week) on a false war in Iraq but doesn’t put money into our economy. The truth about the bailouts and how the wealthy just got wealthier, by robbing the taxpayer of their money and nationalizing banks. This is the truth that I’m referring to.

It’s a double-edge sword, however, when it comes to knowing the truth. The truth will make you mad as it has made me mad. I’m mad because I am a believer or freedom, liberty and fairness. I am a proud American, but the America of late has made me embarrassed. I am embarrassed that I live in a country where a lot of people just don’t care enough their liberty and freedom. I sit back and wait, because as times get worse, people will be forced to get pissed. But when will that come? Will it be too late? Look at Greece where students are rioting in protest of their government. I wish there was more of that here. Bush, Cheney and company should be sent to jail for their crimes against humanity. The Fed continues to try to fix the economy but they know that they can’t do anything about it. The damage imposed by the Fed has finally met its limit and our economy is going to tumble as a result. Obama is the new hope right? So why does he want to continue the war but simply now shift it to Iran and Pakistan. He’s appointing people who are simply keeping the status quo.

I urge anyone who takes the time to read this to take the red pill with me. I’d rather know the truth than not know it. There’s still a chance that America can be a real democracy once again. But, as history as shown us time after time, it begins with grassroots movement from the people. We elect our representatives. We vote in our Senators. We elect our President. Perhaps its time to start looking at the lesser known people such as Ron Paul. It’s no surprise to me that Ron Paul gets very little press and doesn’t receive the millions and millions and millions of dollars that the republican and democrat front runners receive. But what makes me sad is that people don’t realize that it’s usually the little man, the lesser known guy who actually cares for the people and is not influenced by giant corporations and lobbyists.

2008 has been a very interesting year but I think the next 4 years are going to be huge. Bigger than 2008. Either America has some kind of revolution or we see its demise. And what I’m referring to is the death of liberty and freedom, and true democracy. I will dream tonight of the future. I will dream of a beautiful world where Americans turn off the television set and take the 30 minutes to read the real news online. It’s a world where we check our representatives constantly if they aren’t doing their job. It’s a world where if you are corrupt, we kick your ass out. It’s a world where America withdraws its troops from other countries. It’s a world where America has no debt and on the other hand, invests in education, clean energy, roads, technology, the arts and music. It’s a world where America doesn’t spend 10 billion in a false war, but spends it helping those dying children and people across the world that have less than $1 a day to provide for food and shelter.

I cannot wait to dream tonight…

Peace and love,

Andres

What’s cracking?

OK so I haven’t blogged in a pretty long while and it’s pure laziness on my part. My badddddddd. But I’m here now and I’ll probably add posts of some older stuff, just for shits and giggles.  Anyway, there’s like 5 more days till the new year.

Now, in pretty much all ways possible, 08 has been a hella good year for me. Lots of fun times and personal success. I do admit these past two-three weeks we have taken it a little too easy. Now that the New Year is coming, I’m making a promise to myself to give it all I have and make 09 the best evah!

I’ll leave you guys with a few jams that I’ve been really liking:

If you’re going to watch any videos I have posted here on my blog, watch this one. Like many of the other videos I have previously posted, you must have an open mind when you watch this video. This one tops them all in my opinion. I really hope you watch it and consider the points talked about in this movie. Just think about it and think about what is going on in our world…and then draw your own conclusions. Contact me if you want to chat about the movie…would love to hear your thoughts.

Common and N.E.R.D. Concert

Posted on: September 17th, 2008

What’s up people?

So last Sunday I went to the Common and N.E.R.D. concert at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. Believe it or not, this was my first hip hop concert. I’ve gone to quite a few ones before but they were mainly rock concerts…needless to say, I loved it.

I’m a BIG TIME N.E.R.D. fan and it was pretty dope to see Pharrell & co. in person.  Then Common went on and that was the cherry on top. Common is by far one of the most talented rappers out there.

If you haven’t heard N.E.R.D. or Common, be sure to check out Universal Mind Control, a track they worked on together.

Here are some pictures from the concert…

USC #1

Posted on: September 3rd, 2008

It’s official: USC is number one again.

Today, the AP and Coach’s polls were released and they both agreed on one thing: USC deserves the number one spot. Of course, this can be argued for days but I think it’s the correct ranking for SC. Of course, I’m a big SC fan but I try to stay as unbiased as possible.

If you didn’t get a chance to see USC in action, they played a great game last week against the Virginia Cavaliers.

If you don’t agree with USC being ranked number one, well you’re in luck. The Trojans will face the Ohio State Buckeyes next saturday in what is surely the game of the year.

I think it’s going to be a great game….FIGHT ON!
